Product description
Organic refined high-oleic (HO) sunflower oil is a sensorially neutral base oil for cosmetic formulations. High oleic refers to sunflower oil with a particularly high proportion of oleic acid. The almost colourless and odourless oil is suitable for formulations in which the base oil should have as little influence as possible on colour and fragrance.
The organic sunflower oil is obtained from high-oleic sunflower varieties and then refined, bleached, deodorised and winterised (RBDW). This processing gives the oil its understated sensory profile and allows it to be integrated flexibly into different formulation and fragrance concepts.
From a formulation perspective, the high-oleic grade is characterised by an oleic acid content of 75–90%, complemented by linoleic acid and palmitic acid. Its fatty acid profile rich in oleic acid makes the oil a versatile building block for cosmetic oil phases, oil blends and emulsions. Its high oxidative stability is particularly relevant for formulations that call for a stable base oil.
The product is suitable for creams and lotions, massage and body oils, bath products, cleansing products, hair care and other cosmetic formulations. For formulations with a fatty acid profile rich in linoleic acid, sunflower oil is also available as a low-oleic (LO) grade, both cold-pressed and refined.
