Product description
Cupuaçu butter is a yellowish-white plant-based fat with a subtle cocoa scent and a light, supple sensory profile. Its comparatively low melting point supports good spreading behaviour and makes it an interesting alternative to shea butter in cosmetic formulations.
In formulation terms, cupuaçu butter has a fatty acid profile with oleic, stearic and linoleic acid that is similar to that of shea butter. It is also characterised by a higher proportion of arachidic acid. The butter absorbs quickly and is suitable for formulations that call for a lighter sensory profile and good spreadability.
In addition to its function as a consistency factor, cupuaçu butter can also contribute emulsifying properties in creams and lotions. This makes it versatile for use in emulsions, anhydrous formulations and wax-oil systems.
The product is suitable for body butters, creams and lotions, lip care and hair care formulations. Cupuaçu butter is also available as a certified organic grade.
